Default Max Von Sydow is R1a

Everyone's favorite Nordic has equally Aryan paternal lineage. And not even Scandinavian branch, but straight up Slavic.

The Swedish actor Max von Sydow, who played in eleven films by Ingmar Bergman and many Hollywood movies and series, was identified as a member of haplogroup R1a-Z280 (Pomeranian P269 subclade) through the the test of a 2nd paternal cousin at FTDNA.

Nothing surprising. Surnames ending with -ov, -ow from (often noble) Germanic peoples are of Slavic (mostly Russian) origin.
Even his look is Northern Russian.

That makes lot of sense. Many Swedish nobles are partly German like he. And Prussians being Germanized locals in majority had lot of R1a.

Doesn't surprise me. Probably what the 'Nordic' prototype looked like around the time it split off from whatever ancestor which fathered the 'Mediterranean' as well. Probably in Eastern Ukraine and the Caucasus area.

We were never indigenous to Northern and Central Europe. It would explain why we enjoy the company of phenotypes(like Borreby) who are so radically different that we've never could have evolved around them without having gone in a completely different direction.

My mom's family are Scots Irish and all look similar to Max. Must be similarities between R1a and R1b.
