Is India the most diverse country in the world?

With over a billion people multiple languages I think India is probably the most diverse country in the world. I assume a Southern Indian and North Indian are culturally and ethnically different.

Depends what you mean by north Indian. That term is not clearly defined. But yes, overall there is a lot of diversity due to endomagamous inbreeding because of the Hindu caste system. It is more diverse than all Europe combined.

I just think on scale India cannot be compared to any other country except China. India's population matches North and South American combined.

Phenotype in india is not really that diverse being completely honest culture definitely is most diverse honestly look at turkey people can look asian European west asian in Latin America there are so many mixed race people with such a huge phenotype range.

You have to be insane to think Turkey is more racially and phenotypically diverse than India.

I am not sure if many Indians are considered mixed race? I know they are mostly Caucasian but I suppose they have Mongoloid and Australoid also. I suppose it depends on the region.

Applying the term mixed race to them does not make sense because these mixes happened a long time ago. Going by that logic much of the world "mixed race". However one can say that Indians are between west and east Eurasian. The entire area from Siberia down to India is a mix of east and west Eurasian.

Not sure how you can compare India to a country of 80 million people like Turkey. I think that is like comparing apples and oranges. Latin America does have a lot of mixed race but India technically does also.
