Rome vs Athens: Battle of Previously Ancient Civilizations

If Athenians had known in advance of centuries it, they had easily been able to reduce Rome and Romans to cinders. Unfortunatelly for them they lacked CIA and modern concepts like "preventive attack".

Athens tried to conquer southern Italy in the Peloponnesian War and lost. What does make you think they would have conquered Rome?

Which city do you think possesses more cultural importance and is better-looking?

This is such a tricky question

To me Athens possesses more cultural and historical importance (but it is a close tie), and Rome is better-looking in the present day. In fact Athens is not looking good at all, these days.
