Vlachs are Paleo-Balkan people namely: Bulgarians, Macedonians, Romanians and Serbs with spilovers to Bosnia and Croatian Dalmatia

Yes I know that. I also know that Wallachia is geographically north of Danube and flatland mostly unlike Balkan: therefore subject of invasion of many steppe tribes in the past.

Yes that is true. But keep in mind that Steppe warriors did not need more steppe they already had in millions of square miles, they wanted coastal cities (rich ones) for plunder.

This is not an easy question to answer.
For a very long time in its history Wallachia was sparsely populated, only in the Carpathians (and Subcarpathians), which less than 20% of the total area. The mountain areas culture is similar everywhere in Romania and has the deepest roots.

Then you have the population in the plains which moved there in the past 300 years, is mixed and generally poor.

And last is Bucharest, which has half of the population of Wallachia, and it's mostly a graft on it, with its own culture. Is Bucharest Balkanic? You can say that politics in Bucharest meet the Balkan standards but the other aspects of Bucharest's culture? idk.

The Carpathians is probably a better boundary for the Balkans than the Danube in Romania. It would have probably been chosen if it extended to the Black Sea.

I'd personally use the southern Carpathians and Buzau-Danube River as the border for the Balkans in the east.

jk. I don't care for these labels. I'm first and foremost Romanian. Not balkan, central or eastern european etc.
