And once in the Philippines because in some hotels there is a bit of a restriction with local women and foreign men (because of the prostitution problem - which is banned there btw). I remember that I didn't even have the chance to say anything because she gave them a piece of her mind (and my Tagalog is bad enough for me not to be able to understand a word). From then on, I am really clear about wearing my ring in public.

But, in general, there are no problems at all. I remember that, two years in, I tested her by telling her about the small inheritance left to be my father (I hadn't told her yet) and she just shrugged: "might be useful when we're married one day". Another shrug.

I have no idea. But I guess that Western feminism, our own societal collapse, the fact that we travel more than ever before and the fact that we are accessible to them too (with their own societies having their own issues) may have something to do with it. Basically - it's like a shopping street: one shop asks too much for a certain terrible product (a lot of Asian women have problems with the local men who drink a lot, aren't very productive and sleep around and the problems with between European men and women are well known and need no further introduction), so people visit the neighbor instead and find out that their products are actually value for money.

In other words: our own women and their (Asian) men have priced themselves out of the market.
