I don't see what the enlightenment had to do with French speaking Aristocracy but to depose of them since the enlightenment was a bourgeoisie movement. The enlightenment lead to the French Revolution. In the Greek city States, the idea of the equal rights of men did not apply to slaves; the “liberty, equality and fraternity” of the great French Revolution meant the liberty of the rising capitalist class to trade freely, the equality of this class with the feudal lords, and the fraternity of this class with itself – the mutual aid against feudal oppressions and restrictions but did not apply to poorer sections or citizens of France etc..

Is "basal Eurasian" a real thing?
Can ANE be considered European or even fully West Eurasian?

I would think Rene Desecrates, Denis Diderot, Montesquieu and numerous others would strongly disagree with you.

Denis Diderot was embarrassed by the mathematician Euler in the Aristocratic Tsarist court of Russia. Diderot showed himself to be a mental midget and I don't think Descartes mind-body dualism stands up to modern scientific scrutiny etc...

Swaping and changing opinion is fine to suit a narrative - but without enlightenment the 'great minds' that influenced culture in west europe would not have materialised and be still rather backward before the enlightenment.

I used to like the Southern Euros more, the Romans, the Greeks etc. I said things like that the Northern Europeans are Barbarians, I think I pissed off the people because even the arts teacher said "that im a tschutsch", tschutsch is a slang word and means wog or yugoslav or balkans etc. or eastern european. That is funny, I really pissed him off when we where in Italy, for arts class one week and I pretended to be a ancient Roman. LOL. He took me serious? My bs talk?
Me in Italy, eating a pizza, like a boss with shades, black coat and smoking a cig

NOW I like both equally, and dont consider one or the other superior.

AFAIK, basal Eurasian is merely an unproven hypothesis and not even a theory.

    Why is that?
And by “East” do you mean the Near East or Eastern Europe?

I also don’t think very much was “transferred” other than Democracy and a few philosophies that were later altered by Western ones. Ancient Greek society with their cultural customs and laws had much more in common with their Near Eastern neighbors at the time than to the modern West. Because Civilization≠Culture necessarily. As you stated, the “transfer” had more to due with wealth and power.

When people ramble on about Greeks and Western civilization I find it so cliché.

Started by Southern Europeans, molded by British and French. Now, getting destroyed by American culture and you could say Merkel had a role in messing it up
