Anybody know this WW2 uniform?

This is my great-grandfather. Who was a west prussian german soldier in WW2.

The picture is from a family album.
Something i started noticing was how somebody has been censuring im guessing some emblems on his uniform with a blue pen.
Both on the collar and the hat.

Anybody know what those emblems were? Is it a german uniform? Anything is usefull.

His uniform is looking like the Weapon-SS (Waffen SS) uniform for Tank-drivers in a basic version (Panzerdivision der Waffen SS).

I am sadly not allowed to put pictures into here (it´s illegal where I live) just google for "SS Tank driver uniform" or "Waffen SS Panzerfahrer Uniform".
