Without commies Slovene coast wouldn't exist either tho. Tito almost took Triest, actually Yugoslav army already entered the city but west just couldn't allow that.

In communist times in Yugoslavia, working class was protected. For example, in a (government) company you could be a simple cleaning staff and nobody had right to treat you bad otherwise you can report him and ask for protection from party. Today in Serbia you can have college degree and work in private company and owner of it can pay to you minimal salary or force you to be office worker and cleaning staff in the same time or work extra hours without extra money for that or you can lose the job whenever he decides that.
