Here is how COP sorts out by latitude:


39 greece
40 portugal
40,5 spain

41,5 macedonia
42,5 bulgaria, montenegro
43 italy
44 serbia, bosnia

46,5 slovenia
47, france, switzerland, hungary
48 austria
48,5 slovakia
49,5 ukraine
50 czech republic

51,5 poland
52 england, netherlands, wales
53 ireland, belarus

56,5 scotland, latvia

So the average Greek lives at 39th parallel, average Portuguese at 40th etc.


Imo it can be useful to compare it to at how certain ethnicities plot genetically and how close they live to each other.

honestly IDK. If it's officially part of the country I think they probably were, but didn't influence it by much since their low population.

I think you don't grasp the concept of center of population. It's not the same as the most populated region.
