Flemish is probably closest, NW french have a very alpine and dinaric look that is absent in brits

Yes, due to geographical proximity. People closest to the British or Irish range from Western Scandinavia to the Be-Ne-Lux all the way to Northern France.

Frisians/Flemish > Scandinavians* > NW French* > Central Europeans > Eastern Europeans
*Scandinavian + NW French could be interchangeable depending on where in England the person comes from IMO. I think overall, there's a greater similarity with Scandinavians though, especially Danes. Also, I read a 2002 study which concluded that Central English and Frisian DNA samples were virtually indistinguishable, interesting stuff.
