Where I live it is a popular thing to hunt and eat MuskRat. This is a redneck thing.

I haven’t seen many of them in the city but mostly in the woods.

you have mammals who are very specifics of north america like possums,raccoons,chipmunks,bobcats but we have their cousins eurasian lynxes,they don't exists in europe,but i have seen a fox one time or two near of paris,squirrels ,sure we have red squirrels in the forests,they are more wild than in the USA,we have a parc who protect the wolves and other species the mercantour national parc ,under the worlwide patrimony for UNESCO https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercan...al_Park,snakes huummm quasi non existant in the parisian suburbia,i haven't to take my COLT to shoot the crotals,lol, turtle i had a terrrestrian turtle years ago running in circle around a tree

We also have those locusts that make those loud mating calls in the summer time.

I had a couple tree frogs that lived in my backyard. We have slugs everywhere I use them to feed my Turtle. You have to careful walking around barefoot outside at night because you can easily step on a slimy slug.

Slugs can get huge.

I see foxes pretty often. Mostly red foxes, many are road kill on the road. Deer are all over and wild turkeys you will also see on occasion running around. I also in the forest near my house have seen Pheasants.

LOL. Lots of normal squirrels here middle of nowhere. I tend to give them nuts at winter time (using birds feeding automatic)

Plus even these .. Siberian flying squirrel ... only flying squirrel in Europe. Very very rare in Europe.
