    At least from my observation/experience.
TBH Dalmatia is genetically most northern shifted part of Balkan. They are more northern than north Romanians for example. On K15 PCA closest people to them are Moldovans.
Pretty weird considering how far away from each other they are

You're confusing Southern Euro with Mediterranean Euro. Mediterranean is used to refer coastal regions whereas Southern Euro is a broader term. If only coastal regions were counted as South Euro, then interior Iberia wouldn't either be Southern Euro. The Balkans is in the southern part of Europe, so its a Southern European region.

    Wrong

I am a trained lifeguard, for example. But you are right they are less likely to know how to swim proper (apart from Dog-paddling ).

Dude, Croatia doesn't have some unified culture. I don't buy that nationalist bullshit.
Croatian regions have different historical development, they were separated for centuries and it impacted culture togheder with climate and geography.

Official webpage of Croatian state says the same.

    http://croatia.eu/article.php?lang=2&id=48

Traditional Croatian culture is characterised by exceptional diversity. Ecological conditions and the influences of the cultures with which the Croats have come into contact through history (Mediterranean, Central European, Ancient Balkan, Oriental, etc.), have resulted in the development of three specific regional cultures: Pannonian, Dinaric and Adriatic.
