My grat-great-grandmother (she is born about 1890) from mother's side bore 10 children and 7 survived.

Leeloo, Pribislav, Dalmatinac, HungryLion Dušan, Tschaikisten, CommonSense, Bosniensis, Moje ime, Vlatko Vukovic all of us have far Herzegovinian roots.
My direct paternal ancestry is from Grahovo near Nikšić according to oral tradition. That's near the territory of the Korjenići tribe from whom all the carriers of my haplogroup are rumoured to have originated. Of course not all prečani Serbs have origin from the Dinaric region. For example, my paternal grandmother's maiden surname was Stanarević. The original surname of that family was Stupar and they originated from somewhere in the western Pomoravlje area.
Based on what I know, I'd say around 5/8 of my ancestors lived in the 'core' Serbian territories during the Middle Ages.

You direct paternal line originated from Old Herzegovina.

Nikšić, Piva, Banjani and Drobnjaci are historically Old Herzegovina. These areas belong to East Herzegovinian dialect of Serbian language, and became part of Montenegro in 1878.
We can say only for Krajina Serbs who originated from Old Montenegro (Lješanska, Crmnička, Katunska and Crnoriječka nahija) that they have roots from Montenegro, because in 16th century when they migrated to the west only 4 nahije were Montenegro. Connection of Krajina Serbs with Old Montenegro is almost 0.
Someone whose ancestors migrated from for example Drobnjaci to Krajina in 16th century has Herzegovinian roots, Drobnjaci became part Montenegro 3 centuries later. Vuk Karadžić who was from Drobnjaci and born in 1787 was declared Herzegovinian (Ercegovac) regionally, eveh today many Drobnjaks recognized themselves as Herzegovinians (who are still Serbs).

Serbs of Western Herzegovina were mostly natives since middle age like here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rašćan...nd_Herzegovina

Do you know that Ante Gotovina has recent Serbian origin. His grandfather was Orthodox Serb from Opličići near Čapljina, he moved to Zadar married Croatian woman and converted to Catholicism. All Gotovine in Opličići who lived there until 1992 are Orthodox Serbs.

Given the criterion mentioned (which seems to count 1-6 on the Martin-Schultz scale as light, maybe lighter nuances of Nr. 7 too, but you know better if it does - I'm just guessing) it corresponds pretty well with how Croatian males scored in this regard in my survey - 1 or 2% difference in this aspect, really. Also, this is a very large sample. Good job!
