Default Homeschooling - Better for our children or just a Myth?

If I am going to ever have a children to raise, to my will I would raise him at my home. For many reasons. But Public School shouldn't be something to forbid, many poor kids or from lower/working classes don't have their parents available to educate them or do not even have time or patience to do that.

Never seen a normal homeschooled kid in my life. If I had kids my first choice would be private school, second choice would be finding a good public school in a nice area.

They need to socialize with different kinds of people it's a part of growing up, but if my child gets bullied really bad I'll apply for another (good) school.

Home schooling is a reality only in America I believe (I never met a Portuguese or other fellow European who was home schooled). Ideally I don't think it is the best method but having in consideration how some public schools in major European cities are increasingly starting to have more third world migrants who clearly slow down the education process for others I think home schooling might become an attractive alternative for some conscious minded parents.

Socializing with a bunch of thugs or troubled kids who will either target your son or turning him into one of them?

Many young teenagers change a lot when they change from basic school to high school or elementary school and go to Schools and end up in classes where there are a lot of bad behaved older "students". (This happens in Portugal).

This is literately one of the things that concern me the most about being a parent. If possible, I am really inclined to put my kids in a private school, away from all of that. Especially if I have a daughter.

That's life though. They're likely going to be exposed to all kinds of bad people when they grow up.
