I don't think Canada had the ghettos like the USA. Also the racial "strife" you see in the media is very manufactured and intentional.

I mean there is ghetto here, but is not St.Louis or Los Angeles of early 90s you know

The media hype up a lot of racial conflicts, in USA there is more conflicts due to nature of the history, over here we got alot recent immigrants

It depends where you live, in some places people wouldn't bat an eye over an interracial couple, it's not that uncommon in some parts of the US and America. I think Blacks are the most open-minded when it comes to dating interracial dating/marriage.

Here in southern Louisiana it’s not looked at twice by Blacks or Creoles of Color. Whites? It’s still looked at oddly by some.

The main issues I see here is CLASS not race, per se.

When I first moved to Michigan I would not date a Caucasian. I think many thought it would be “cool” to do so and I wanted no part of that.

Places like Southern California you will see lots of interracial people and couples. No one thinks twice or at least you won’t see people staring awkwardly. How people feel can be something different, however.

There is still some... awkwardness if you see a Black guy dating a White woman. That said, I have several Black male friends who have White wives. They don’t describe any issues.

I did work with a White guy who was married to a Black woman and I never saw or heard anyone say anything about him.
