Generally people who are protestants are northern europeans.
We are much less dramatic and much less passionate about religion compared to catholics i think, which are mostly southern europeans.
I think it's just a question of culture really.

There is a significant difference between the "mainline" Protestant churches and "Evangelical" ones.
The first lost some members and some have become more liberal as time passes (not all).
The second is very focused on the Bible, spreading the message, and born again experience (Fundamental, charismatic).
