    My parents told me that in small lake / natural pond (which is in our lands) ... two birds of this species have stayed there couple of days now. Who knows, maybe they are trying to make nest now? I hope so ...

    Like all World's loons (5 species alive; all living in North Europe/North America, Tundra areas) ... the smallest one them (this Red throated loon) is one the oldiest bird species, if not the oldiest (the loons generally).

    They can also live pretty long (there are evidences of 30 years old loons).
