I dont think white americans of only anglo ancestry look whiter than british, just when mixed with north germanics.

Understated how? Everyone claims German and Polish ancestry. That and Italian. The main island people talk about is Ireland. I have yet to meet a single person claim English ancestry.

In my experience in Anglo-Saxon countries, They are quite similar. In the British Isles, there is more cloud cover, less sunshine daily per year. Thus blond hair is usually dark golden blond or reddish-blond among the English and Scottish in particularly, though their skin is very white. In Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, parts of the U.S., hair may more "bleached" by the sun, but they are in no way whiter-complexioned!

I highly doubt it, in America's case anyway. We almost to a man have more mainland European ancestry than Brits, which, in theory, should make us darker. We may be more robust, but that probably traces to differences in nutrition and hearty pioneer stock.

Yes but what 'mainland European' ancestry is more numerous? Because if it is primarily Germans and Dutch then that should make you lighter.
