Ethnic nationalism? Irish, Italians, Greeks, Poles were all treated like dirt when they came to the USA. There was anti German American hysteria during WWl. I'm for keeping it and giving all states the same number of electoral votes.

Nonsense. The Electoral College is one key part of our republican system of government. It decentralizes power by setting up fifty mini-elections. It's not good enough to win ten of those elections with a ninety-point margin. You have to win many more, even if by only the slimmest of margins. This is exactly what happened in 2016, and exactly why Clinton lost. Just because Californians voted for her like sheep wasn't enough to give her the win. And that's a smart system, courtesy of our Founders, whose wisdom isn't understood, much less appreciated, by today's lobotomized generation.

Ok, thats just plain stupid. Because certain states have larger populations than others. But I think whats more important is what do majority of americans vote for. Not what majority of states voted for.

Every state deserves an equal say. Take away the electoral college and most states have no voice.

Yea thats exacy why it wouldnt work. Some states have larger populations. Its not a accurate representation what the average citizen wants. Its what the state government wants. Not what the actual person wants. A person can vote a representative in, once a representative is voted in, they don't have to necessarily go the way their voter base wanted to. Happens often in politics.
Popular vote is better, ensures what the citizen wants, because they have direct say. Not some abritary representative who votes for millions of people without their interests. Millions of people have different interests. Not all people of the states are unanimous. Swing states for example
