Default Do Kurds really have self-determination right?

If a state systematically discriminates against different ethnic, linguistic or religious groups living in the country, if it prevents them from having a say in the administration, that group can use the right of self-determination otherwise this right will not be used. (Also The United Nations recognizes that the territorial integrity of the states is ahead of the self-determination right.)

According to this definition, do Kurds really have self-determination right? Discuss.

One thing for sure, Kurds wouldn't know how to administrate themselves.

So it's the best if they were given cultural rights and leave the rest.

This is true, but if the question is should they have a "right" (or whatever anybody wants to call it), as anybody else does, my answer would be yes. It's a pity that none of the countries in which Kurds are present seem to think so. It's also a pity that many of them are Communists, but given their situation it isn't hard to understand why.

My understanding of it is that the Kurds are by more than sufficient measure a nation without a state. They are the fourth largest ethnic group in the region.

Indeed. Also Kurds do having a say in the administration pretty much to be an “oppressed people”. We have had many Kurdish politicians, ministers and even president. (Turgut Özal)

Turks don't know how to administrate themselves, do you think Kurds would figure it out?

They seem to have de facto figured it out in Iraq and Syria where the central government is unable or unwilling to step in as much.
