Dad: Worked when he was younger at Ponypark Slagharen, now he works at a printing office making posters.
Mom: Also worked at Ponypark Slagharen, now works with people who have mental problems. But when me and my brothers were younger she was at home.

Oh, my mother's family has owned this place for several hundreds years. My Finnish Swede grandparents were still full time farmers, but EU killed small scale farming. My parents are the first ones who have normal office works. But they did't want to end farming totally, so it is like 2. income and hobby for my parents.

Housewife seems to be a western things pre 2000s
I recall even my grandmothers and grand grand mothers were housewifes, till the 70s Germany had a law that let the husband decide if his wife was allowed to have a job.
