Pashtuns have less ASI and more caucasus than even most Northernmost Upper cast South Asians and this shows in phenotypes.
I think when ASI decreases below a certain level its effect start decreasing rapidly e.g you will rarely find a Pashtun that look typical for gangetic plains.

It’s mostly Jats and Khatris though.. I guess even a little difference in ASI can create massive difference in looks. Also folks in north have more of Central Asian Eneolithic admixture, which folks in inner South Asia have less of. Steppe admixture in South Asia is very diluted in every groups when it comes to showing up in phenotype, but once you reach Northern Pakistan, you see more exotic & somewhat Euro looking folks.

No. That is not what it is at all. Kashmiris have the same ASI as punjabis but look exotic compared to them. Baloch have the lowest ASI of any major group in Pakistan but as you showed some can even look south Indian. The reason is climatic adaptation to the mountains. If you check northern Pashtuns on Harappa(labelled Pathan), they are not very different from punjabis.

As I said, this is the result of alpinization. Steppe admixture in South Asia is max like 20% for some punjabis. It definitely influences their phenotype but since it's only a small minority of their genome it will not result in them looking "European", or whatever. But for what its worth the upper castes look different to dalits, despite only being 10-20% more European-like. That alone is proof that it affects phenotype to some degree.
