The only real mistake lies here in Western Europe: Schengen was a mistake. 9 April 2003, 14 April 2003 and 1 May 2004 were mistakes. But then again: so were 7 February 1992, 2 October 1997 and 12 March 1999.
In other words: the EU was a mistake, the Maastricht and Amsterdam Treaties were mistakes and Poland joining both the EU and NATO are mistakes. The EU should have remained the EEC and both the EEC and NATO should have been Western-only.
