Horse meat was banned by the pope ~ 1,000 years ago because it was associated with the Vikings. This Pferdfleischverbot persists in parts of Europe and the US to this day because of this prohibition. A quick search on Google revealed that horse meat is available for import from Russia and Kazakhstan. Horse meat is considered pretty normal in some parts of continental Europe, and in Yorkshire, there is a food known as "Kicker", a traditional horse dish. Has anyone here tried horse-meat?

I've never tried it. I may try to import those two items I showed in the OP one of these days.

Protestants eat it but Catholics, as far as I know, are still not allowed to eat it so I won't touch it.
