You identify as Italian but you've never been to Italy. You have no relationship with your father, and all of your knowledge of Italy is from third and fourth-hand sources. Because you are an administrator, people take your word as though it is supposed to be gospel truth. But you're talking about people you don't know. You're talking about people you don't care about. You admitted to me that you don't care about the real Italy of today, but the Italy of when your family came to America. That is ridiculous.

I identify as Sicilian American, Portuguese American, Cape Verdean American and so on. I only identify precisely as "Sicilian" on this forum because my anthropological interests revolve around Sicily. What I did in the past as a teenager should not count against me now.

I totally agree with this (alfieb's) assessment, Sikeliot.

But I am also over and out of this thread. This ItalicRoots drama is but one little detail of my day in managing Apricity. Also, let's close this thread for now. And no Sikeliot, don't reply to this closed thread, even though you (at the moment still) have the power to.
