Ask Danish members about Denmark

Generally eastern europeans are not seen well here in Denmark. They aren't liked generally. I gotta be honest with you, when you ask. Other danes might see it different, and be more humbling. Im just telling you what i see and hear. And i've heard a lot of negative stuff about them. Poles, romanians, urkanians etc. etc.

I worked in an electrician company 3 weeks ago, they had one romanian guy working there who had come from Romania to work in Denmark. And they were really hard on him, talked shit about him behind his back etc.
Some of the critique was probably deserved as he was not a very good electrician. But still, certainly some of the negativity was there solely because he was Romanian, east european guy.

My last boss at my last workplace even expressed his annoyence with Poles that came to deliver goods at the warehouse. He started talking shit, and was really offensive towards the polish truck driver that came in.

Personally i like eastern europeans. They are different from us certainly, no doubt. But they are good hearted people. The ones i have met.

As i said, don't take this as absolute fact. This is just my view. Im sure there is danes out there that have nothing against them aswell

In fact, i would like to ask you the same, but this time with Western Europeans : How do the danes "see" them ? In what way are they more liked ? Do you find it "justified" ?

Depends what you count in as "Western europeans"
If your talking about these countries:
Germany
Austria
Switzerland
Netherlands
Great Britain
Scandinavia
Then the answer is liked and respected. Seen as "proper people" "proper country" "quality"

French is probably mostly seen as abit arrogant, and abit too much to deal with. But respected aswell i'd say.

Stereotypically it's justified in the sense that, usually eastern europeans that come here are abit useless, can't do their proffesion properly, not educated properly, kinda slacking etc.
While it's the opposite with western europeans.

Regarding Italy and Iberia. I don't think there is a particular sentiment towards them. So i have no idea.
It's just kinda neutral.

No, not all. The only minority group that mainly resides only in one place are danish jews, and that's in Copenhagen. Other minorities like muslims, indians etc. are spread out pretty well.

It gets tons of tourists and the hotels and restaurants make a killing. A tourist trap but fun and located in a really pretty area. Asian tourists especially love the Danish theme for some reason but people of all backgrounds go there. I believe it still maintains a decent size Danish-American population. They seem to own a lot of the local businesses including wineries. A lot of Danish settled on the west coast for agriculture. I imagine you would have a fair amount of Scandinavians in the Midwest, my parents are from the upper Midwest.
