Well yeah, Alfred the Great (a heroic Saxon King from Wessex, south-west England) defended the south west of England and Wales from the Danelaw when England was divided into two Kingdoms... with the Danes ruling over the north and east of England, and the Saxons ruling over south and west.
Alfred the Great was loved by the Victorians many centuries later;- he's often credited for saving the English language from becoming Danish.
This mass grave of beheaded Vikings was found in my native county of Dorset in south-west England. The local people were defending themselves against raiders.

Personally im fine with the EU.
I'd like to see even more cooperation between the nordic countries. And if it was to come to a official unification, i probably wouldn't stand against that.
I would be willing to accept finns and greenlanders as part of that aswell. As long as they are motivated to join in. Icelanders are a no brainer.

I love Danes too... I love all of the Scandinavian nations.
It's just that I can't resist teasing them sometimes over the frequent Viking Raids and looting of our island... it's just friendly banter... and sometimes I even pretend to be angry, ('Those bloody Vikings... those brutes... hmph!' ) just to be humorous with mock anger... but in reality I feel absolutely no hostility towards them and I understand the reasons behind those raids.
I actually greatly admire the Pagan Vikings and look up to them in awe and wonderment over their amazing strength... even though they raided us. They were the first Europeans to discover Greenland, Canada, and America.
I love many Scandinavian metal music bands... and the Norwegians and Danes are actually my favourite Scandinavians.
Vikings don't bother me, lol... that was a 1000 years ago... but muslims bother me. Europeans need to unite against the Islamisation of our cultures.

About Danish Vikings in England:
"The ‘People of the British Isles’ project and Viking settlement in England":
https://www.cambridge.org/core/journ...EAEC826BEDBC63
"The recently concluded ‘People of the British Isles’ project (hereafter PoBI) combined large-scale, local DNA sampling with innovative data analysis to generate a survey of the genetic structure of Britain in unprecedented detail; the results were presented by Leslie and colleagues in 2015. Comparing clusters of genetic variation within Britain with DNA samples from Continental Europe, the study elucidated past immigration events via the identification and dating of historic admixture episodes (the interbreeding of two or more different population groups). Among its results, the study found “no clear genetic evidence of the Danish Viking occupation and control of a large part of England, either in separate UK clusters in that region, or in estimated ancestry profiles”, therefore positing “a relatively limited input of DNA from the Danish Vikings”, with ‘Danish Vikings’ defined in the study, and thus in this article, as peoples migrating from Denmark to eastern England in the late ninth and early tenth centuries (Leslie et al. 2015: 313). Here, we consider the details of certain assumptions that were made in the study, and offer an alternative interpretation to the above conclusion. We also comment on the substantial archaeological and linguistic evidence for a large-scale Danish Viking presence in England."
