I didn't smoke until I was 25. then i discovered cigar. what an invention! I still occasionally smoke cigarettes when i don't have the time to smoke a cigar (which can last longer than an hour). not really practical if you have to move often.i don't do drugs (soft or hard). i also hate its smell (especially joint).
smoking is not an alpha characteristic. I respect non-smokers, as long as they don't harass smokers.

No thanks, I don't want yellow smokers teeth, bad breath, fag-smelling hair, bad skin, stale smoke-smelling clothes and home, a poor sense of taste, cancers, premature ageing, discoloured nails, cataracts, long term eyesight problems, yellow eyes, asthma, emphysema, shortness of breath, smokers cough, etc.
Smokers can't smell much due to their senses being affected... so they don't realise how bad their breath, clothes, skin, and hair smells to the large majority of people who are non-smokers.
Only one in six people now smokes in the U.K. compared to 50% of the nation many decades ago, (we now have the second lowest smoking rate in Europe after Sweden... whereas eastern European nations have the highest rates of smokers.)
The amount of smokers is decreasing a lot each year here due to the smoking ban laws in public places, the ban on advertising, the enforcement of gruesome pictures and health warnings on all cigarette and tobacco products, the increased prices, and shops not being allowed to publicly display tobacco products inside shops.... along with all the free counselling help available for smokers, and free smoking cessation clinics, and th 21st century state-of-the-art devices available here to make quitting very easy for people.) Smokers clothes and skin and hair and breath smells very strongly from some distance like stale ashtrays.
There's only one ingredient that smokers are addicted to;- nicotine. They're not addicted to carbon monoxide and tar. Nicotine can be obtained in safer alternatives to smoking, such as patches, gums, inhalators, and vaping steam on state-of-the-art e-cigarettes and box mod kits with a lot of technical customised features, digital inhalation counts, timers, voice controls, air flow adjustments, coils, etc, in order to help reduce nicotine dependence and wean people off the much more dangerous form of obtaining nicotine from old-fashioned and outdated analogue cigarettes.
If you choose to smoke fags (a.k.a. 'cancer-sticks') like a chimney... it's a waste of money (like setting fire to money that goes up in smoke each year) ....and it's your own graves... but make sure you don't break the law by smoking in public areas, or smoke inside cars where children are present (even with the windows opened as it's still against the smoking laws and a health hazard to children.) Breathing-in second-hand smoke (a.k.a. 'passive smoking') affects the health of other people and pets.
Also make sure to fund your own private dental care and healthcare bills for all the irresponsible self-inflicted damage caused from smoking fags.
There are approximately 600 ingredients in cigarettes. When burned, cigarettes create more than 7,000 chemicals. At least 69 of these chemicals are carcinogenic and are known to cause cancer, and many are toxic... as well as tar and carbon monoxide. https://www.lung.org/stop-smoking/sm...cigarette.html
Smoking should never be encouraged. Being an addict is certainly not 'alpha';- it's a sign of self-destruction and mental weakness. Hitting the gym is alpha. Lots of 21st century devices and counselling help is available today which has helped lots of former smoking addicts to find the self-respect and the mental strength to quit smoking.
