Default Do right-wing dictators like Pinochet and Suharto count as "fascist"?

I don't think they necessarily do. To me, fascism proper still entails a high degree of State intervention in the economy and a substantial welfare state, just not to the same extent as in communism. By contrast, the two aforementioned dictators and other similar regimes sought to minimise public welfare programmes and privatise and marketise several companies and industries.

    yep

    and a substantial welfare state,

    less so.

But yeh, I don't consider an aggressive authoritarian market liberal a fascist. He was more about market ideology and abstract economic like modern USA. Rather than blood, soil or romantic volkish nationalism. Fascism is usually more folk orientated. Whether on the purity of their genes like the nazis, or a romantic focus on their history and culture like the Italians where

When you say 'he', are you referring to Pinochet or Suharto?

Pinochet saved Chile's economy and future kicking out the leftist Salvador Allende. Pinochet is a national hero (or should be).

For a while Chile did well, but it went tits up in 1982 and several banks and companies were nationalised in order to save them. (Granted, most of them were privatised again two years later. However, one company Pinochet did NOT privatise was the copper mining company created by Allende, which became a sustainable and important source of revenue). Btw, what do you think of the Brazilian military junta (1964-85)?

    Not at all.
Fascism is third position, so, nor left nor right.

SORRY, I VOTED WRONG, JUST "ONLY IN CERTAIN CASES" AND THE RIGHT ANSWER SHOULD BE "NO" in my humble opinion.

Pinochet was an American lapdog, a weakling that should be a shame for any Chilean. In no way a neo-liberal would qualify as a ''fascist''.
It's like calling some American cuckservative scumbags ''fascists'' only because they are racists, it's ridiculous.

The word ''fascist'' is overused by liberal/leftist media. They even called Dumbonaro ''fascist''.

Precisely my point. Compared to Pinochet and Suharto, Peron was more fascistic but was also more left-wing (and less authoritarian).

Please, can you rate my english skills? Just quote me rating my english, because I'm curious about this. You can rate my english on this mold - 4/10, 7/10, 5/10, ok?

My answer about you ask: I have mixed feelings about it. João Goulart (our last president before army got the power) was not a communist as some people like to point out. In fact, He did want to nationalize some companies and make an agrarian reform, but he was not a communist. Castelo Branco (our first military president) did not want to keep the power under the army's hands for a long time; his ideia was about kick out João Goulart and convene a new election (he was a moderate). Well, in fact the army got to construct a lot of important constructions, infrastructure, etc; but, they made our external debt too big. Of course, they were not so corrupted as our nowadays's politicians, so a lot of people like to worship them - but I don't.
