People who have had wisdom tooth/teeth problems

I had my wisdom teeth removed. I'm sure the doctor urged me to remove all 4 of them because he wanted more $, but it's not like they're necessary. I was given 5mg Oxycodone and 325mg paracetamol tablets. The drug high was wonderful and made me love everything, but I took it at night once and it depressed my breathing, and that was scary.

general?? what for? i had only one removed cose it wasn't growing in the right direction. i was in so much pain. i had a small surgery under local anesthesia...nothing dramatic. after that, the pain is pretty bad for a few hours..it doesn't want to go away with any type of painkiller but u should be fine

The tooth hasn't poked out of the gum. So i'm guessing they'll have to do general. But i shouldn't guess these things haha. Should just wait and see what the dentist says after the x-ray.

They made a mistake with mine and it was infected for weeks. Turns out they didn't use anti-biotics.

mine neither u do not need a general anesthesia. u're not gonna have a heart surgery a local one it's good enough u'll need to see a maxillofacial surgeon and not a dentist.

You can buy paracetamol without a prescription in the US, right?

The breathing thing would have been scary indeed.

And of course they wanted to take all four out for the extra cash.

anti-biotics where? after that? it is not recomanded in general. u need to keep the area clean and to avoid eating solid food for 2-3 days.

Maybe. But keeping it clean didn't prevent infection. I talked to a dentist (she is Romanian btw. Sabi is a friend of mine) and she was aghast. It seems to be in common use there though.

I had general anaesthetic at a dentist as a child to remove my four front baby teeth. I still remember that day clearly. It scared me. My dad and the dental nurse had to hold me down as i was pancaking ferociously. They forced the mask on my face.
