My main problems with pan-Europeanists are that (a) they tend to discriminate against Europeans who don't look or behave how they think Europeans 'should' be and (b) their sentiments are mostly negative rather than positive - they tend to be mostly anti-American (if on the Left) or anti-everyone that isn't White (if on the Right).

No, thanks.
Churchill said this about about Britain in 1930 and as a Dutchman I wholeheartedly agree. Before World War II, the Netherlands used to follow a policy of "splendid isolation" and aloof neutrality (frankly: keeping Europe at bay) and we should we should readopt that stance towards continental Europe. Of course, this does not extent to our Benelux-partners (although, personally, I would like to ditch the Benelux in favour of a Greater Netherlands with Flanders) and like-minded mercantile nations like Britain, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway (and to an extent: Sweden) with we should increase our trade relations as well as cultural exchange. I thus favour EFTA-membership over the EU and a non-committal stance when it comes to the rest of continental Europe. I think that if the Netherlands should be faced with choosing Europe and the open sea... we should choose the open sea. We should focus ourselves on North America, Australia, New Zealand and on the emerging markets of Latin America and Asia.“We have our own dream and our own task. We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked but not combined. We are interested and associated but not absorbed.”

There are too many social, political, economic divisions in Europe.
There are various competing "visions" to the future of Europe (which countries to include, or to federalize it or not).
Oh and how to procede with the relationships with US/China/Russia.
The one reason to support it would be to compete with larger entities like China or US.
Would someone want to lose national sovereignity to one group in Brussels? It would piss a lot of people off.

Lets be realistic here It's not outdated and I don't see ending soon, you can see through the forum, all over the internet and offline how often Europeans usually oppose any sort of syncretism by instinct.
But anyhow this discussion is interesting. Well, the idea of an unified Europe sounds quite laughable to me, if we strip honestly the social maneirisms and the romantic view on things, we can see that many groups really look down upon each other for many reasons. And, outside the white nationalist propaganda, Europe actually don't have a strong feeling of union, so all of this talk of an unified Europe sounds not so different from the old marxist talk of "workers of the world" (I'm saying they are similar in the sense of how both are related with crude reality)... without even mention stupid discussions of "who is whiter".
I agree with those that said that local unions would be much more realistic and proper (Iberians, Meds, Scandinavians, British etc), in my opinion, the best we can have is a mutual respect for each other as nations and go on trying to solve our own problems and pursuing our own interests in the best way our own nations/local-groups figure out.
Moreover, I think every idea of a mingle with any American country is just silly as well, many people from USA would never want to have anything with Europe... they have pretty much their own culture and interests, Canada is following its own path now, and Uruguai, Argentina and perhaps (if they want) Chile would be much better in a close union.
Australia and New Zealand should stay as they are. And, in my humble opinion, white people should leave Africa for good and seek a new life in Europe, America or Oceania.
