I know that Čeko was previous surname of Princip family.

My claim for Gavrilo Princip was I2-PH908 was based on Čeko from Bosanska Krajina. Myabe I'm wrong, I thought there is tested Čeko from Bosanska Krajina as I2-PH908?

There is some Čeko from BiH tested as I2-Y3120, not I2-PH908. And there aren't any informations about his exact origin or ethnicity, but he is more probably muslim or Croat beacuse surname Čeko is much more frequent among Bosnian Croats and Bosnian Muslims than among Bosnian Serbs. Serbs with surname Čeko in Bosnia lived only in Obljaj near Bosansko Grahovo.

They settled to Obljaj from Polača near Knin. According to lengend they came to Polača from Old Montenegro? Is there any chance that they are I1 if they realy originated from Old Montenegro? I1 is not common in Old Montenegro, unlike Old Herzegovina. I think even in Brda there is more I1 than in Old Montenegro.

According to Čekić's result, they are probably closely related to Ćuk (Zrmanja), Popović (Biovičino Selo), Bulović (Bitelić) families in Krajina, and Ljubibratić (Trebinje) and Miljanić (Banjani tribe) families from Herzegovina. So yeah, the Herzegovina is more probably place of their distant origin than Old Montenegro.

    You are wrong.

How not? Based on what are famous Serbs mostly I1 and R1b? There are tons of tested members of other haplogroups (and from ''main'' three) who have famous members. Where you have seen much I1's and R1b's on this thread?

I just thought that all of them will be in the main three because the others are rare. And why are some Serbs R1b and I1 are they germanic descend?

It seem another great Serb who was not I2-PH908. Interesting how rare is I2-PH908 among famuos Serbs and historical figures.

Surname Princip was for sure formed in Polača, because sounds related with Venetian influence in Dalmatia like surnames Formentunović and Telenta on Vrbnik near Knin or Gambiroža in Mokro Polje. Also, there is "principove voše" toponym near Polača.
