The map seems to be low for Spain. I think the differences with Italy are not so big.

And also is very erratic the distribution, I think Galicia has a bigger degree of light eyes than Valencia, for example.

Spain is based on Hoyos Sainz. Search for my topic "pigmentation of Spaniards". If you have any other data for Spain I might change it, but for now Hoyos Sainz is the only one. Coon wrote about one other study from Sanchez Fernandez, but I was unable to find it.

Regarding France I think Bertillon's study (1889) is much more accurate than Chamla's (1940). First the sample is about 10 times larger. Second and more importantly it goes much better with the studies you picked for neighboring countries and with ToeKneeHwin's. There is only one problem in Spanish / French Catalonia, most likely a problem in Hoyoz Sainz's study.
