Yet you wrote, "I can tell without problem when somebody has light blue eyes," which to me implies you can differentiate shades of blue -- and indeed, my eyes in that pic look light blue.

And i do, but don't ask what blue is for me. They look certanly light blue for me, but that probably is not the same for you.

What the actual perception really is does not matter. What matters is you can differentiate the differing gradiances in color. It's a learned experience. It can be treated like semantics.
