How did you play as a kid?

One of my favourite games with friends was reenacting war (especially Pickett's charge) in a large room or in the garden with use of thousands of plastic toy soldiers and wooden blocks or LEGO blocks (we were throwing large blocks at them as equivalent of cannonballs / smaller blocks as rifle bullets; and it was like a turn game: artillery salvo, then the whole army was marching, then another salvo):

We played who is scared of Mortimer and threw rocks at him then we ran away

Hide and seek with a ball, just imagine 15 kids playing and the last one manages to sneak in and shoot the ball away and you have to count from the begining, this game could take even 5 hours.

Played hide and seek but with the counting spot as a safe zone, you had to sneak to the safe zone and touch it before the seeker (if the seeker saw you)

The patio of my school was next to the beach and every day we would jump to play in the sand to be mermaids or pirates. Several times they came to look for us but we buried ourselves in the sand and scared the adults.
