What are your parents' political beliefs?

So my dad was an orphan and was adopted/raised by really strict parents who were also extremely religious, and they had 6 adopted kids and 3 of their own. Then my mothers side imguess they were from America and some of them fought in the American Revolution and one of them died in WW2, so I don’t know I can’t really stand my mothers side. I was looking at photos in my American and some of them looked like gangsters a little.

I wouldn’t say it’s the “far right” but my family on my moms side all act kind of like that, I noticed before I discovered this, so...they act in a way that reminds me of the military almost like they were really effected or influenced by it.


I don’t know if my family was,liberal or conservative, it’s actually what it is with Canada. Like you look at how things are happening now and Canada started or patented it before everyone else but I guess a lot of uneducated people are like that. I want to say my dad for example, mistook Nazism for socialism and he carried on a lot like that. Then my mother I dunno Canada is socialism and pretends to be captialist without many of the benefits so my mother was never tolerant to like free-thinking very much or creativity and such.

Well it’s why I want to leave Canada, I find Canada is not individualistic and all and everyone tries to chasten or condition your individualism away but I can’t make it go away. My family is all really conservative by Canadian standards which is just, doesn’t make sense to me.

My great grandfather left I’m sure because of all the stupid gangs and crime in America, lol. Then my other family left because of like problems in Europe. My dad should have been liberal in Canada, then my mother I think had lots of problems but she’s hopeless now. I don’t think living in a liberal country did my family well.

My parents have always leaned left but they never pushed their opinions on me, they were always the kind to allow me to form my own. We agree on most political things anyway.

My family never cared much about politics, they always thought all parties were shitty in their own way.

They're just really anti communism after having lived through the romanian one.

Both voted for Dansk Folkeparti four years ago and plan on doing the same in June.

My father's side leans towards the Left (centre-left), but my father has been voting more radical leftist parties lately because he is a teacher and the socialist party has been disappointing him.

While on my mother's side they lean towards the right, except for my mom. That's mostly because of their past in Angola, and how Socialist Mario Soares dealt with the former colonies and the almost 1 million Portuguese settlers (later called retornados "the returned ones"), most retornados like my family vote for the Liberal conservative Social Democratic party (which is only Social Democrat on paper).

My parents however never tried to force their views on me. That's why I'm right wing wacko.
