    Default Scythian Appreciation Thread

Scythians, people of Pontic Steppes of remarkable history, a mix of Turks, Alans, Slavs, Germans (Vikings) who lived
under a Nomadic hierarchy under various Khans and Khagans.

Later they were called with various names: Russians, Ukrainians and are mostly identified with Slavic peoples today.
Their spiritual successors today are known as Cossacks. Cossack habitat was called Sich (a place that was cut inside woods)
which was a stronghold surrounded by natural barrier = trees. Out of that name Sich and Sichari modern English word
Scythe (a weapon used to cut leaves and things) is applied to them = Scythians.

A people that were mostly observed from utmost negative aspect as Mass Murders and Pillagers infamous for no-mercy mentality
just like Turks armies were composed of numerous horses but unlike Turks with Heavy Armors and multiple weapons.

    Unconfirmed Quote of Jesus:
Jesus son of Mary once noted: "Those people who are called Scythians will bring massive destruction of the World in the End Times"

Alexander the Great (or his general):
"Bravery against Scythians does not help, they fight completely differently than we do, they hide in woods and let people come to them,
then they surround and massacre them"

Russian Scientists explain that they are Scythians:

Serbs and Croats were called "Scythians"

Excerpt from the Byzantian chronicle states that
    during visit to Emperor Vasilis
    Basil II "the Bulgar-Slayer"
    (Βασίλειος Β΄ ὁ Βουλγαροκτόνος)
    Scytian delegation
composed of Croatian and Serbian representatives
demanded to become subjects to the Byzant
after terrible raids of Romans in Dalmatia.

Scythian Religion (Hellenized Model) In Pra-Ancient Times:

According to Herodotus, the Scythians worshipped a pantheon of seven gods and goddesses (heptad), which he equates with Greek divinities of Classical Antiquity following the interpretatio graeca. He mentions eight deities in particular, the eighth being worshipped by the Royal Scythians, and gives the Scythian names for seven of them as follows:

Tabiti (Ταβιτί) – Hestia (Tabiti is thought to be a hellenized version of a name similar to Hindu Tapati and related verb tapayati ("burns"/"is hot"), as well as Avestan tapaiti, Latin tepeo and several other Indo-European terms for heat.[3][4]) Tabiti was presented as "Queen of the gods" around 450 BCE by King Idanthyrsos, a political guardian,[5] she was considered the goddess of the home ensuring prosperity to a well-functioning household.

Scythian Ares (Greek: Ἄρης) – Ares
    Papaios (Παπαῖος) – Zeus
    Api (Ἀπί) – Gaia
    Oitosyros (Οἰτόσυρος) – Apollo
    Argimpasa (Ἀργίμπασα) – Aphrodite Urania
    Thagimasidas (Θαγιμασάδας) – Poseidon
