Default In France, how easy would it be to get by with Arabic?

This is a serious and non-trollish question. Just as it is nowadays quite easy to get by with Spanish in many American cities due to the large number of Hispanics, so given France's large North African population how easy would it be to get by at least in urban France with Arabic?

Probably very easy. I already stated that ''French'' people nowadays are some kind of Arab-French-SSA creole. I visited Paris 3 years ago and I saw many regions in which the majority was non-white, I guess it's even bigger now.

Do any schools in France teach it as a subject? In Britain, there are some schools that teach Punjabi and Gujarati, especially if they have large numbers of students of South Asian descent.

Now that's an exaggeration. Even the US is still two thirds (non-Hispanic) White, and France is surely whiter than the US.

People of maghrebis origins can learn arab but it is not generalized. Subject is often polemic, RN and parts of LR are against.

Except that France prohibits collecting statistics to do with ethnicity, so we won't properly know. That said, our 2011 Census showed Britain to be around 85% White - how do you think France compares to that? And of France's non-white population, over half are North African in origin, aren't they?

Anyway, just as in many American cities every bank, post office, shop and restaurant usually has at least one person available who can speak Spanish, would that be the same in French cities with Arabic?
