In my basic training we did sociology and brushed on psychology. When I specialised in tutoring I did educational psychology. When I specialised in psychiatry the focus was on identifying and managing psychosis, depression, substance addictions and other general psychiatry things. We don't do therapy of any kind because we're not trained to give counselling.

What you're talking about needs a psychologist. I can run a ward with 20 psychotic patients. I can't counsel you on your problems.

They don't stink like in sweaty or dirty or full of cow dung. They can be 100% clean and showered and they still smell like that.

Our ex-neighbour had two girls. The one was 3 and the other was 9. Very cute kids. Well-behaved, polite, never dirty or unkempt. The 9 year old girl wanted to go to the shop with me one day to buy sweets or something. After we came back the car smelled like 'child'.

It's very strange because both my mother and grandmother talked about this "child" smell. They have/had it too! When we sold our house, my mom, granny and me went to check out a few houses to buy. When we walked into this one house, I immediately backed out because of the smell. My grandmother whispered, "I'm not buying this house. It smells like children!" My mom also pulled a face. It was a lovely house but none of us could get past the smell.

I told my husband about this smell and he thought I was nuts. He went out one afternoon with a friend of his, and his was Father's Day or something and the place was full of kids. When he came home he said, "You are right!! I smelled it today too!" He is a high school teacher and he said none of his students smell because they're about 13-14, which is when the smell fades.
I agree, children smell. I have taught Catechism to children and tutored Logic to teenagers and also taught some Philosophy in College and children have a distinct smell. I like playing with them though.

They're very imaginative and creative. I wish I would have taught children Art instead of Catechism since they're more stimulated by that.

I understand what you are saying! Rather, I remembered! With my sense of smell, I can feel this smell only being near a large group of children, for example, in a kindergarten. Your family seems to have a hereditary feature - hypersensitivity to subtle smells.
An interesting point that I was able to recognize this smell already after going through puberty - when I was in elementary school, I did not notice it.
In any case, the smell of children is incomparable with the smell in the university audience after the end of the studies!

I was lucky enough to be brought up in a house with Grandparents, so grandad mostly took care of me, he's a very skillfull man capable of inventing fairytales on a go, and has a great knowledge of outside world, we were always hunting for mushrooms, roasting cheestnuts, or making fire out in the wild. Having abosrbed thoose and dozens of other skills it's very easy for me to interract with children, as parents nowdays have very little of such knowledge, so overall kids seem to like me and i do it back.

Yes, it can be considered luck. I also had the good fortune to experience this.
Most of the parents from our time do not have time for this, it is easier for them to plug the child with a tablet, "here's the Internet for you, learn the world with its help, but don’t bother me!"
I will try to find enough time for raising my son in the correct (old) way.

Yes but to me their smell is more IDK I can't explain pungent but not in a strong way, more like an annoying innocence sort of smell lol. I'm only sensitive to smells because I love sex, kissing and licking bodies. (God forgive me for but I'm out of the Monastery now so it's ok). I loved the smell of my different beloveds and I find that every human being has a unique scent. I'm actually curious on how different races smell so far my first girlfriend was half MENA and I loved her smell. I want to smell an African woman and a Latina, Asians don't usually have a strong smell compared to other races though, I find Arabs and Indians have strong scent sometimes I like if I'm horny, sometimes it just smells like Body Odor.

Well i was specially lucky with grandad, he lost his job in 92, being already 60 years old, and parents were hustling in 90-es, working all day long, so i was as much an entertaintment for grandad as he was for me.

No I don't like them. I feel bad because I have nieces and nephews but even then I never learned to like children.
