I used to live next to a polish take away/restaurant that served these pizzas called zapienkanka
and Pierigi, It was hard to eat much of because it was so 'heavy' although it tasted pretty good

BTW in Rome tripe is traditional dish too, but not served as soup but meat dish with some sauce.

I think you had wrong impression before eating.
And it was hard to resist it.

I don't like fried eggs since 5 years old when I vomited heavily after eating it. And to this day when I smell the fried egg I feel unpleasant. It must be some schema in brain.

I find gross this Polish soup / stew called ''flaki'' - ''tripe''. That name can be also literally translated into ''guts'' albeit it is not that. It is made from stomachs (usually beef) though, yuck. It looks tasty but smells and tastes awfully, smells like crap even dare I say. In my life I have only managed to eat a few spoons of it. My sister also hates it, my mother once paid my sister to finish her soup. I remember all the disgust on her face and how she had to stop every so often while looking like as if she's about to puke. And it was apparently very fresh, it is way more gross if it's even slightly stale / badly done.



Or befsztyk tatarski / steak tartare. It is not that bad but not my thing at all. My mum loves but I can't stand it on the other hand. I can eat raw fish as in sushi, but raw meat is a no, no for me. Maybe I have too much prejudice towards it?





I also actively dislike dumplings with sweet cream (quite popular) - I mean pierogi ruskie with it and served with some lettuce to it (yuck), those with bluberries / strawberries are fine if they are not too sweet, but your standard ones of some sweet variety - I am strictly against it. I am yet to ever try eating Czernina, it's a soup in which one of the ingredients is duck blood. I have some objections ... but maybe I shouldn't eat as I like kaszanka which is a sausage containing blood too. Czernina is not a popular dish though.

Being on keto, I can’t eat a lot of my favorite comfort Samoan foods my mom used to make, like kokorisa, kopai, and panikekes. I can and do make/eat a lot of palusami.

One thing that sucks is my mom had this delusion that if I knew her recipes for these foods, I wouldn’t eat her food anymore, so she would never teach me. I’ve figured out how to make everything based on my memory of how it tasted. I regularly make these foods for my family. I miss my mom’s cooking.

I’ll probably attempt making oka, poke, and sosi puligi next.
