Default In Germany, to what extent is it possible to get by with Turkish?

This is a serious and non-trollish question, similar to the one I opened about Arabic in France. After all, Germany is by some distance home to the largest Turkish population outside Turkey, so surely at least in some towns and cities one can survive reasonably well with Turkish, whether as visitors or as immigrants, can't they?

However, is it the case or not that, in many if not most German cities, the shops, restaurants, banks, post offices etc. will have someone around who knows Turkish, just as is the case with Spanish in much of the US nowadays?

In some German towns and cities, the percentage of the population that is of Turkish origin is in double figures, isn't it?

Just found this Wikipedia article with good up-to-date info:

It says that people of Turkish descent make up 3.2% of the German population. What's also interesting is that, even after the 2015 migrant influx, nearly half of all people of foreign descent are of other European origins.
