Have you ever thought about how intriguing it is when a species of animal goes extinct? I dont think its a good thing but its incredible to think about how hundreds of millions of years of evolution creating a species with its own unique morphology, genetics, and fully functioning body which then suddenly disappears forever. It was once a living creature with its own mannerisms, diet, mating rituals, vocalizations, etc. then all them die and all that's left of them is some piece of jawbone or a femur. Otherwise no one would even know about it.

Something to think about. I guess this is why humans captivate our imagination.
