The great threat to Catholicism in Latin America isn't atheism but Evangelical Protestantism. It's already known that Nixon and Kissinger are behind the engines of the Protestant expansion in Latin America. They want to make the region more docile to US domination and of course countries with a predominant Ibero-Catholic culture were an obstacle.

All the US does in LA is trying to reverse the Iberian legacy. That's why I think Ibero-Americans are the natural enemies of Anglo-Americans. Modern Anglos are an anti-Iberian race per definition.

But if you see. Protestans practice better their faith. I main, how many catholics in your street, community or work knows about the bible as protestants do? How many of them knows about Old testament or even New Testament. The catholic is only tradition nowadays while protestants faith isn´t.

I don't see the appeal, honestly. Catholics revere the Blessed Virgin Mary, Protestants don't. A religion without the Feminine is a dead religion.

Mr- Wog, no creo que el Papa Francisco sea la raíz de la disminución. Esto es multi-causal. Por un lado(al menos aquí) los protestantes son más constantes en la práctica de la fé y conocimientos bíblicos. Por el otro, la Iglesia está pasando por muchos "boicots". Como los escándalos de sacerdotes pederastas o/y la confrontación entre las feministas. Así como el strawman que le hacen a la Edad Media sobre las ciencias y el arte("que si no hubiese sido por la Iglesia, estaríamos adelantados 1000 años en las ciencias y el arte") Por ejemplo:
