We are. But there is still deep tension in some aspects because of the history of slavery.
For us it was obviously not a matter of racial differences, but the way we were brought up.
He was raised with a completely different mindset that stems back from his cultures history.

Yes. I had a girlfriend when I was in India. She wanted to get married, but I declined because I was not sufficiently attracted to her. She moved to Houston TX, got her Masters in engineering, and found a Mexican-American boyfriend. We met up in Denver and had dinner. We still stay in contact occasionally.

My most recent ex lover is a Maori woman.
We partake of the same broader NZ culture (while she, in addition, partakes of Maoridom too).

Haven't been in a relationship yet because my standard is whether she is marriage worthy or not.
I'm very open to a different culture, open to a different ethnicity (although I prefer my own), concerned but still open about racial differences but I would most likely never accept to date someone of a differing religion as values can't be compromised.

Nope I've never dated outside my ethnicity.
Of course I've tried to date outside my ethnicity back in high school but there was no mutual attraction. They didn't like me back lol. Overtime I've just gained interest in girls from the indian subcontinent and I dated them in the past. I wouldn't mind getting with a gorgeous non south asian girl though but realistically speaking it might not work out long-term due to cultural clashes.

Well first thing my family wouldn't even accept a non telugu girl, let alone a foreigner. Secondly, idk I'm becoming quite "indian" bro these days culturally. Yeah I'm westernized in a sense I watch football games, eat american food, listen to the music, go camping etc but idk I'm quite indian as well culturally speaking. I feel like I could only connect with indian american girls since they are obviously a mix of both cultures similar to me. I can't imagine myself with a non desi girl for some reason even if we were attracted to each other.
