Was sure I'd already answered on this thread, but apparently not. It's tricky to just give a binary answer here as I personally think it would depend entirely on the woman in question: if the woman would essentially treat you as glorified daycare, that's a hard no for obvious reasons. However, if the mother in question was actually looking for love and would be able to balance her attention and time between her child and her partner adequately, I would have no problem with it (assuming all other factors in the relationship worked as well). I'd also have no problem being nice to her child and definitely wouldn't resent it, but I think I would genuinely struggle to make a meaningful connection with it.

There is, however, the lingering thought in my mind that you would never be a priority in the mother's life - even if the two of you were to get married, the needs of a child that will never be yours will always come first. And perhaps that's my age, inexperience in such situations and general selfishness talking; but I wouldn't like that. I'd much rather meet somebody and sire my own children with them, to me that would be infinitely preferable.

No. She has to give up her previous kids to an orphanage so she can prove her loyalty to me.

IMO, in vast majority of cases it would be a person who took part in ruining relationships with with her/his pervious soulmate and made the family of her/his child broken. Why wouldn't she/he do it again?

This is topic is very foreign to me as I have never been close to the ’step parent/children situation.

However, being in my 20s I don’t think dating a single mom is a smart choice at this stage because there are plenty of beautiful women at my age without children or married life.

As someone said above “You don’t know where or when love will hit you” Children are not a problem for me as long as they call me Daddy(just kidding). I assume being in a relationship with a woman who already has children would be hard as one might not be accepted by her children and the regular contact with her ex would be annoying.

But as I said above .. not gonna say never because if I am really in love with the woman I would be ready to go through that and take her children as my own, as If I love the mother then how can I be against a part of her - the kids. Probably the worse thing would be if the father is still in the picture .. which can be easily changed (this humor again)..

Why are there so many single mothers in the USA?

I have never met one in Europe. And the single-motherhood is confined to the scarce "coal burners" and some latin american inmigrants.
