Not a bad choice. Five good albums, great talent. I personally think they are a bit too boring however with their everlasting psychedelia. I would choose Led Zeppelin, Prince and The Beach Boys over Pink Floyd.

All of them had some heavier elements of rock in their music as well. Marvin Gaye not so much. He didn't f*ck around. That much.

A good point. Hits are not enough however. A good musician produces a lot of good albums too which Prince did so many times.

I would put The Beatles and Ed Sheeran over MJ when it comes to dominating the pop field. Also U2 wrote a heckload of pure golden hits. One of their greatest songs was written in Berlin by the way.

Modern Day Popular Music doesn't hold a candle up to the likes of Beethoven, Bach, Handel, Etc . . . Etc. By the Way, I was a Bass Choir Singer for Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and I'll probably do it again.

Completely agree on this. Despite all the differences, modern music is still based on that foundation. Even the greatest popular music is closer to classical. And pure classical music can be extremely fascinating as well. Tchaikovsky, Arvo Pärt and Hans Zimmer is something i will never stop listening to.
