Balkan does not have the same musical or literary traditions as western Europe because of the Ottomans, so there was never a Baroque period in the Balkans. Balkan joined the rest Europe by the time Romanticism began.

Too much generalization. I can only notice we have more southern temperament compared with eg. central Europe, that means more showing of emotions, being open to foreigners etc all other things you mentioned can be related to other post communist countries too. And southern temperament has nothing to do with Turks. Also we are just in the middle of south and north so we are clearly less southern in temperament compared with eg. Greeks.

On this forum I didn't notice Serbs acting more impulsive than average. You?

Of course I was generalizing and what I said isn't representative to all inhabitants of the Balkans, but these stereotypes aren't created out of thin air. It can be questioned if they are thanks to the Ottoman or rather Medieval South-East European legacy (in my opinion both), but these things are specially more prevalent out of all other European regions in the Balkanic countries, which only 150 or so years ago were still under Ottoman occupation. Habits from 1-200 years ago don't just go away, but they live on even until present population.

In you want me to mention good things about it I can tell you Balkanites are actually lot less xenophobic compared to Lithuanians, for example.

In Serbia I always felt welcome even if we are enemies and in Lithuania people were really nasty because they tought I'm Russian and they are slavophobic as fuck.
Macedonian Slavs are one of most welcoming people around, and so on. In Austria on the other hand they always treated Slovenians like shit.

About "show off" culture, it is rather a Gipsy thing also it had a boost during 1990s as result of wars and criminal and I thing it is related to some eastern European countries too. I'm not aware it was present before war among people in that amount.

It's oriental thing. Easterners love luxury, it's Persian-Byzantine influence in fact. Same thing in Russia, they love gold, circus colors and showing off.
