    American accents are diverse. The upper states may sound similar to Canadian provinces nearby... but southerners and east coastals are dramatically different not only from Canadians but other Americans

    True, but the point is however that most Canadians live within a 2-3 hour drive from the US border, thus there is a lot of overlap.

    B.C. people always drive right on by us to go to Arizona. I have no idea why Arizona and not California or Nevada.
