Overall NZ and Australia are closer, but Canadians accents are closer to Northern US states than Aussies are to Kiwis.

Had to look him up. Yes he sounds Kiwi, but not the strongest accent. It might take me a bit longer to notice than the typical NZ expat. Nearly all New Zealanders sound distinct to me. John Clarke is the only one I can think of that sounds Australian.

American accents are diverse. The upper states may sound similar to Canadian provinces nearby... but southerners and east coastals are dramatically different not only from Canadians but other Americans
