Geographically speaking Poland lies in North-Central Europe, in the eastern-most part of Western half of Europe, thus directly bordering the Eastern half.
Our culture is mostly Central European and we've had a unique socio-political system in the past (neither Western nor Eastern, though having some features of both).
Our religion is Western European, language Central and Eastern European with a Western European alphabet, architecture Western European, cuisine Central (-Eastern?) European, genetically we're Central-North-Eastern European, politically Western European and we share many customs with other Catholic and also Eastern Europeans.
In mentality we're more individualistic than the Orthodox but less the the Protestants (so Catholic more or less) and strangely somewhat Southern-shifted.
Poland could thus probably serve as a good definition of Central Europe.
